Scrawny Tawny

Scrawny-Tawny_edited.jpg

Very old wood aged sweet tawny made using the “Solero” method, whereby the aged wine base is kept in a large old oak barrel. A small quantity of wine is then removed each year or two and fortified. That wine is then replaced with a later vintage.  The end result is that each bottle contains wines from various vintages.

Tasting Notes: Slightly spicy and smoky with rich fruit tones, elements of plum pudding, fruit cake and the best Brandy spirit.

Matching: Good quality fruit cake or just simply on its own.

Prime Drinking: Indefinite
